The day brought together golfers of all abilities for a mix of friendly competition, conversation, and community in an inclusive and supportive environment. Our outings are designed to be approachable and enjoyable for everyone — whether you’re a regular golfer, returning to the game, or attending a golf society event for the first time. Alongside the golf itself, these events are a great opportunity to meet new people, build friendships, and enjoy social golf in a low-pressure atmosphere. Alongside organising inclusive golf outings and social events, Out2Golf Ireland aims to foster a welcoming and supportive LGBTQ+ community where members can build friendships, enjoy shared experiences, and feel connected in a relaxed and respectful environment. The project was supported because of its focus on inclusion, visibility and LGBTQ+ sporting participation across the island of Ireland and between Ireland and the UK. The Rainbow Matchplay Intersociety Championship, which will take place in September 2026, aims to bring members of both societies together through friendly competitive golf, social events and community-building in an inclusive and welcoming environment. The support will also help Out2Golf Ireland continue to develop broader participation initiatives within the society, including future member development and coaching opportunities.
